Bring Light to the World

At a recent concert, Madonna was deeply upset by what is happening on this planet and professed in a speech to her audience that “we can bring light to the world”. As someone who has had a major spiritual awakening and spent over four years doing intensive personal growth, I feel I am able to expand on what she means by that statement.
This idea is the same concept that many sages, leaders, artists and visionaries have been trying to communicate for decades. Many are listening and know there is change that is needed in the world, but do not fully understand on a personal level that there is actually a lot that can be done our own lives to contribute to ourselves, our families and the people around us. What does it mean to be a candle and bring light on a personal level?
I have noticed that many people are distracted by the events in the external world and are missing the key clues to do the inner work. I see many people pointing fingers, labeling others in an attempt to take blame off of themselves and arguing about what other people should do to fix the problems in the world. In the past, “doing the work” often meant seeing a psychologist, meditating and/or making lifestyle changes through diet and exercise. As someone who has raised three children, earned a college degree and has been working in the wellness field as a massage therapist and a corporate wellness coach for over 25 years, I can tell you that there is more to be done. What Madonna is talking and singing about is beyond this level.
What exactly is the next level? There was recently a book published called “How to Do the Work” by Dr. Nicole LePera. This woman has taken her own experiences in the working field of psychology and written an entire book of advice and suggestions on exactly what steps any person can take to do inner work in his or her own life without spending hundreds or thousands of dollars in therapy. She supports people on social media through her content to give humanity a living classroom full of non-traditional education that I call higher consciousness wisdom. Social media experts call her a content creator. In the spiritual community, Nicole is what we call a lightworker. She is someone whose higher purpose, her soul purpose is to raise the consciousness of humanity.
What does raising the consciousness of humanity mean? It sounds really cool, big, fancy and important. It also sounds like something that few people can actually explain. It is what many spiritual leaders throughout history have been doing for thousands of years. It is what the hippies started with the non-traditional communities. Its what sages are doing at ashrams around the world. If you haven’t noticed by now, we are at a major stage of spiritual and evolutionary change on this planet. Call it the age of Aquarius, the end of Kali Yuga, or whatever priests and pastors have been attempting to prepare people for in church all of these years.
This work that we each need to do is also referred to shadow work or inner child work. There are many different ways to do this work and many people whose soul purpose is to teach others how to take the spiritual path. This is part of clearing your human vessel to literally bring more light to the world. Many lightworkers have been doing this in many forms for years and now it is time for you to take a step on this path.
We are now all being called to look within to find our spiritual selves. We need to figure out why we are living at this important time, to find our higher purposes, to reestablish our connection with our soul and our god self. This is not the time to argue about what we personally call god and point fingers at other people who call god something else, or seek it in another religion or call it by a different name. We are beyond that now. We are at the part of life on mother earth that the Beatles sang about many years ago when they said “when all the broken-hearted people living in the world agree”. As you are driving along in life and hearing Michael Jackson sing, it’s time to look at the man (or woman) in the mirror and make that change.
